I decided in that moment that I would take control of my work-life priorities by starting my own business.

That was nearly 25 years ago, after working at Pepsi-Cola as a Lab Manager and earning my B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology. I designed a high quality beauty brand of my own while working remotely.

As a high school senior, my Physics teacher told me I was going to get a 'D' in his class if I didn't get an 'A' on the next test.

I was motivated to study diligently and ultimately achieved the 'A' that I needed.

This moment changed the trajectory of my academic career and revealed an aptitude for math and science that had previously gone unrecognized.

This experience was so transformative for me, I now make it my mission to encourage students to explore STEM fields they may not have considered otherwise.
